The Natural Health community is facing upcoming labelling changes for Natural Health Products (NHPs), and it's crucial for them to come together and express their stance toward these changes. It's important to note that all NHPs licensed before June 21, 2025, must comply with the new Plain Language Labelling by June 22, 2028, while products licensed on or after June 21, 2025, must comply with the new regulations upon licensing.

The new standardized approach, which requires the use of the Product Facts Table, has posed challenges for many manufacturers who are struggling to fit all the necessary information on their labels. Some concerns have been raised regarding the increased difficulty in reading the information, the additional investments required to implement the changes, and the possibility of some brands leaving the Canadian market as a result.

While the proposed changes to NHPs offer numerous benefits such as standardized appearance, increased product transparency, and allergen statements, it's crucial to gauge the overall perception of stakeholders involved.

To that end, CHFA and Deloitte are conducting a survey aimed at determining the general attitude toward the changes, and offering consumers and manufacturers an opportunity to voice their concerns and issues with the proposed changes. We encourage all our clients to take part in the survey by following this link.
