Update to Veterinary Health Products (VHPs): New Route of Administration

Health Canada has introduced a new option on the Veterinary Health Product notification form, allowing applicants to select the "Nasal" route of administration specifically for pheromone-based VHPs. It's essential to be aware that none of the medicinal ingredients listed in the List of Permitted Substances are presently approved for this route.

In light of this development, Health Canada is encouraging stakeholders to take action by submitting Short Substance Applications. These applications would serve to either add new ingredients to the database, which can be administered nasally, or modify existing ingredients to include the nasal route of administration.
